What Goes Around, Comes Around

With the Supreme Court decision on Roe vs Wade looming, women have taken to the streets, many carrying signs proclaiming their autonomy. The political environment is toxic. Half the states in the union are pushing through new laws to protect abortion on demand, among them those willing to transport pregnant women, pay for abortions, and pay for transportation home. Even corporations are joining the movement to ensure the right of a woman to kill her unborn child: Amazon, Apple, Citigroup, DoorDash, Starbucks, Microsoft, to name a few.

I can’t help but wonder. Are these states and corporations also willing to pay for contraception, prenatal care, pregnancy leave, and childcare if a woman chooses to have her child? Or do the economic benefits only apply to a woman who wants to kill her unborn child? Or do they see a bottom line: death is cheaper than life.
More baby girls are aborted than baby boys. How do women’s rights play into that? More black babies are aborted than white. Perhaps BLM should be BBLM and stand for Black Babies Lives Matter. In truth, ALL lives matter. To God.

For decades, women have had the right to use and the easy availability of contraception. Planned Parenthood, in the beginning, offered “the pill” freely to any who wanted to prevent pregnancy. A quick search on the internet will bring up a dozen ways to prevent pregnancy. Surely women are not ignorant or reckless. Oh, my goodness, if a woman shirks her responsibilities to protect herself, surely her man can shield himself from becoming party to an unwanted pregnancy!

One would think women are unthinking animals with no control over their lust. They become mindless beasts in heat; every other rational thought out of their heads. That was once believed about the opposite sex, and it was no truer of men than it is now about women. Unless evolutionists think we are all devolving into lower, instinct-driven animals. Is that in the new sex ed curriculum for kindergarteners these days? Of course, the only fool-proof way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence — hardly a popular concept in this enlightened era of unfettered, hedonistic, entitled cultural climate change. “I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it and I don’t have to deal with consequences.” Hmmm.

When you rear an entire generation (or more) to believe that life is a choice, and killing an unborn child is a right, not a wrong, prepare yourself for the consequences. Men and women grow old. Medical expenses mount. Care is difficult to find and expensive to maintain. And oh, those old people can be inconvenient, especially to the young who want to live life on their own terms. As age sets in and quality of life diminishes, and we sit in our wheelchairs in our residential and skilled nursing facilities, our children will look at us in the same way we looked at their dead siblings. Will they really want to waste their inheritance taking care of someone who isn’t even really alive? It’s just an electrical blip on a screen… Death is so much cheaper. And convenient, too.
