Why Santa Might Be Late

Imagine the dire possibilities that might make Santa Claus late this year:

-Santa was stopped at the border and searched for possible contraband.

-Every package must go through scanners.

-Santa has been charged with trafficking weapons.  All Nerf guns, slingshots, rubber knives, bows and arrow have been confiscated and cataloged as evidence and stored in a warehouse.

-Santa failed to produce a verifiable license to fly.

-Official find no record of citizenship and suspect him to be an illegal alien.

-Santa needed an XXXL mask and one wasn’t available. He is awaiting his court appearance to pay a $10,000 fine for not following COVID rules. The rules changed while Santa was waiting.  He was turned in by a child on the naughty list and is now in jail awaiting a hearing for defying SIP orders.

-Santa has numerous lawsuits pending because he landed on rooftops without written and notarized permission.

-The ACLU claims Santa is guilty of discrimination in that he only hires very tiny men with pointy ears who wear green and red suits and sing while they work.  Santa’s Toy Shop is closed until the next court session renders a decision.

-All the chimneys are closed due to no-burn regulations.

-Santa tested positive for COVID and is now in quarantine at the North Pole. Due to limited space, Mrs. Claus was ordered to move into an igloo.  She caught pneumonia.  Santa got caught sneaking in to visit his wife and is now in the slammer.

-Rudolph blew his nose.  No light to see through the fog.  Santa is lost in the cloud.

I’m sorry, Folks, but you just can’t count on Santa showing up in this season of COVID.

The GOOD NEWS is you can count on Jesus Christ.  Santa may show up one night a year, but Jesus is already here.  He stays with us morning through night, 365 days a year.  We can celebrate Christmas because we know by faith in Jesus that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

SO – Let’s celebrate and give thanks!

May the joy of your salvation

and the Spirit of Christmas fill you through this year and on into the next!
