“UNPLANNED” – A MOVIE FILLED WITH TRUTH AND GRACE

I read Abby Johnson’s autobiography, Unplanned, and heard her speak a few years ago at our local pregnancy counseling center banquet.  Her story is heart-wrenching, powerful, and mind- altering.  She was a Planned Parenthood director for eight years until she saw the truth of what happens to a living child in abortion.

You can watch the trailer now on IMDb.com or on YouTube. (If you can’t see the embedded video due to settings in your browser or any other reason, simply go to youtube.com and search for “Unplanned movie” and the trailer will show in the results.)

When I heard “Unplanned”, the movie, was coming out on March 29, I hoped it would come to our area.  Unfortunately, it will not be showing in any theater in Sonoma County, California.  A friend is gathering a list of people who want to see this film in the hope a brave cinema manager will request it.

“Unplanned” is not an easy film to watch, but it is filled with truth and grace.  For those individuals who gather and pray for women entering abortion clinics, don’t stop.  Many change their minds and leave.  For those who work and volunteer for pregnancy counseling centers across our country, offering prenatal care and alternatives that bring life rather than take it – be encouraged and keep up the good work. You’re saving lives.

This is a courageous film about a courageous woman, and it takes courage to watch it.  Have tissue handy.  In the end, it offers healing, redemption and hope for the future.

For those who don’t think they can watch the film, I highly recommend Abby’s book, Unplanned.  Spread the word that this is an important message.  If the movie isn’t showing in your area, contact cinema managers and request it.

In a culture where “choice” is celebrated, it is essential that girls and women have all the facts about what abortion does to the mother and child.
