Things I Learned in Bible Study

Over the years, I’ve read the Bible many times and studied through classes as well as on my own. I am not a scholar, but I know without doubt God meets us where we are and His Word is living and applicable to our everyday life. Even if I read through the Scriptures every year for the rest of my life, there would always be more to light my way through this life.

Here are some important things I’ve learned:

The One who stands at both ends of eternity is also in control of every minute of every day in between. God has a plan. Everyone and everything has a purpose.

God did everything needed to save every human being on the planet. He left the decision to us whether we want to be saved or not.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He has always loved each of us enough to make Himself known and offers salvation to any and all who believe in Him.

God is always about extreme make-overs. He can make beauty from ashes in a human life, and someday He will do a complete make-over of the entire earth.

When the pure, holy, white throne of God comes down, there is one judge, no jury; a prosecutor and no defense. There will be no appeal process. On that day, there will be no more opportunities to repent and be saved. No more chances will be available. In less than an hour court is over. Each of us will end up where we decided to go.

Easter is fast approaching, a day and time of the year that reminds us Jesus died and rose from the dead. He is life, abundant and eternal. He is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other way to the Father – and eternity in heaven — but through Him.

Don’t be fooled by man-made religions and philosophies. Don’t take my word for anything. Investigate Jesus. Examine the evidence. You are an eternal soul. Where do you want to spend the rest of your real life?

We never know when our day will come to lay this body down. Putting off making a decision is the same as saying no. Say yes to Jesus.
