Oh, if only!

“Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.  And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, by carefully observing all the words of this law and these statues, and his heart may not be lifted up above his countrymen and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or the left; in order that he and his sons may continue long in his kingdom in the midst of Israel.”                                                                                      Deuteronomy 17:18-19

I’d like to see a new law enacted on the federal level.  It would have four parts:

#1 — The incoming president shall write in his own hand-writing the Bill of Rights and Constitution.  (The copy will be verified of word-for-word accuracy with the original documents by all members of the Supreme Court.)

#2 –  The incoming president will hold up and show to all the people this hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights and Constitution on the day of his inauguration.

#3 – The serving president shall read this hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights and Constitution every day he serves in office.

#4 —   The serving president shall carry this document on her person wherever he goes.

Perhaps then, our president/s would remember who we are as a people and that he is our servant; a protector, not a potentate.
